The designer’s ready reference book
Creative Book is the cultural initiative with which Casalgrande Padana underscores its particular interest in subjects concerning architecture, design and technological research. Fundamentally dedicated to designers, the last four editions of this publication were issued along with Casabella, the international journal of architecture.
A decision that testifies yet again to Casalgrande Padana's desire to strengthen the special spirit of collaboration that has always bound the company to the world of design. Created as a sort of "tool" to help designers in their work, the volume contains additional tips and suggestions about how to get the very most out of the expressive potential of Casalgrande Padana's porcelain stoneware by offering information, examples, solutions, advice, helpful hints, effects and atmospheres for a multitude of different applications.
A book that's easily consulted and that can be leafed through when required.
Creative Book is divided into three sections dedicated to constructions, finishing details and materials.
The first part contains a selection of the projects that took part in the latest Grand Prix Casalgrande Padana international competition of architecture, divided into the main types of building sector: shopping and business centres, public building and constructions for the services-producing sector, industrial and residential building, façade cladding and swimming pools. Each work is illustrated by a series of photos along with a technical data sheet listing the materials used plus a brief biography of the designer in question.
The second section of the book deals with finishing details for floors and wall cladding, and considers certain of the typical parts of a building, beginning with the point from which it rises from the ground to the coping. An illustrated collection of useful tips for correctly using ceramic materials in different applications, from the simplest to the most complex.
The last part is dedicated to materials. The performance specifications and design features of Granitogres, Marmogres, Pietre Native, Granitoker and Padana Piscine tiles are highlighted in the technical data sheets of the products, complete with a suggestive array of colours. Information about the formats, surface textures and the different shades available mix and match at different levels, allowing designers to create differentiated and customized interpretations.
This is how Creative Book directs the designer towards possible fields of research into the expressive potential of ceramic materials and the infinite compositions that can be achieved by using it in architecture in a series of practical tips to be used as a ready reference.
